BRYAN DUNCAN AND THE NEHOSOUL BAND ANNOUNCES
THE STILL DANCIN’ AWARD

NEWS SOURCE: Nova Productions
December 3, 2008

(Riverside, Calif.) -- In conjunction with the new project Still Dancin” by Bryan Duncan and the NehoSoul Band comes a unique concept in the glittering and glamorous world of awards and accolades: the musician applauds the audience.

The Still Dancin’ Award is the creation of Bryan Duncan, multi-award winning recording artist who himself has learned to make a new shoe fit and dance a new step after more than thirty years in the ever-changing music scene. The Still Dancin’ Award has been conceived as a way to give back to others and at the same time show the implications of the “Still Dancin’” music project.

“When was the last time a music group turned the scenario around?” exclaims Duncan. “The idea is to use the record to award those who could use the encouragement rather than wait for an award for the project itself. I have a room full of awards that nobody sees!”

Duncan continues: “Most records come out in hopes of achieving some kind of recognition for the work; usually in the way of sales, but further in the acceptance of an award of merit,” explains Duncan. “I've decided not to wait! It’s time to give back. I've decided to put the cart before the horse, taking the implications of the new “Still Dancin” project and turning it into an award of merit presented to others in recognition of “resilience.”

Readers and listeners are encouraged to submit for consideration themselves or those they feel are candidates for the Still Dancin’ Award by stating in 250 words or less how the nominee’s life has changed and how the person has changed to accommodate the difference with an ongoing attitude of discovery and hope.

Submissions are to be sent to awards@bryand.com, and will be posted at Duncan’s Myspace site (http://www.myspace.com/stilldancinawards). The name of the nominee can be kept confidential upon request. Every week one person will be awarded a Still Dancin’ Award certificate and a copy of the CD Still Dancin,’ preceded by a phone call from Duncan congratulating the recipient.

The Still Dancin’ Award is for people who have not simply survived but have overcome adversity of one kind or another with a specific plan to find a new way to “dance."

“Redemption is a slow process in all our lives; the quiet victories are seldom seen nor acknowledged,” reflects Duncan. “Most people don’t receive any validation for the daily work of redemption in their personal lives. My hope is that through these examples I might show to others how similar our lives are in the changes that we all face... that people might see in the stories a process of peace through hardship, and find strength to add some new steps to their own dance in a positive direction.”
